The 2022 Comprehensive Planning Committee is working with the Department of Planning & Development Director and the Town’s consultant to develop drafts of each required Comprehensive Plan chapter, beginning with the Existing Conditions, Needs, and Opportunities (ECNO) sections for each plan element. Please note that the draft sections included herein are the first iterations and do not necessarily represent the most up-to-date changes, due to the dynamics involved with the plan’s preparation (e.g., Town consultant’s preparation/changes to the draft, changes resulting from required state review, and updates recommended by the Town Plan Advisory Committee).
Drafts of the Existing Conditions, Needs, and Opportunities (ECNO) sections will be posted here as they are developed. The same drafts that are posted here will also be submitted to the RI Division of Statewide Planning for a preliminary review to ensure compliance with all applicable rules and regulations surrounding Comprehensive Planning in the state. After the ECNO sections are reviewed and revised as final drafts, the local planning team will utilize feedback from the public meetings and reviewer comments to develop draft goals, policies, and implementation sections for each plan element. The final drafts will also be posted here for public review.
