Swimming & Picnic Facilities

  • Lifeguard on duty 10:00a.m.~6:00p.m. 7 days a week starting June 22 - September 2, 2013
  • Additionally Lifeguards will also be on duty the weekend of June 15 & 16, 2013, 10:00a.m.-6:00p.m. 
  • Playground facilities and seasonal portable restrooms

Proof of residency and/or vehicle registration is required before admission.

Season passes and van/bus permits are obtainable only at the Parks and Recreation Department Office.

All admissions are subject to lifeguard/patron ratios as established by the RIDEM.

  • Merrill S. Whipple Conservation Area - Route 117
  • Foster Memorial Park Conservation Area - Station Street
  • Hope Meadows & Sandy Acres - Sandy bottom Road


Public Boat/Canoe Launches

  • Lake Tiogue - From Tiogue Avenue and North Glen Drive
  • Flat River Reservoir - Zeke's Bridge, Harkney Hill Road
  • Carbuncle Pond - Route 14 (no gasoline engines)
  • Green Acres - Walnut Hill Road (canoes only)
  • Francis H. Sherman Memorial Park - Johnson's Pond from Old Rte 117 (canoes only, personal watercraft permits are required to enter Tiogue Lake)
